Stories of Yogic Wisdom

In the second course (4 classes) we will focus on all the events directly before and after the Bhagavad Gita. During the conflict between the Pandavas (who symbolise the virtues & the Dharma) and the Kauravas (who symbolize the evil and unrighteousness), the Panadavas are banished into exile to the forest for 13 years. Upon the return they ask to have their share of the kingdom back, which they lost in the game of dice. With the help of Krishna various peace missions are undertaken. When Duryodhana refuses to return the rightful half of the kingdom, a war is prepared. Krishna becomes the charioteer of Arjuna and imparts of highest wisdom to Arjuna, in the form of the Bhagavad Gita. After this transmission of knowledge, Krishna supports the Pandavas during the war in order to establish Dharma (righteousness) in the world.

We will also study some key verses of the Bhagavad Gita.
